Chad Van Delden

Chad Van Delden proudly serves as President and a fourth-generation owner of Van Delden Wastewater Systems, expertly guiding the operational future of a family legacy that began in 1937. His entire career is a masterclass in hands-on expertise, built from the ground up with an unwavering work ethic. He started his journey in the field as a helper on the company's vacuum trucks, an experience that provided an invaluable, granular understanding of field operations and the day-to-day challenges of providing premier septic service. This foundational knowledge shaped his leadership style, which is rooted in practical skill and a deep respect for the work itself.

Today, Chad is the driving force behind the company's renowned installation and service divisions. As the lead project manager for all new installations, he personally meets with customers to architect tailored, effective wastewater solutions that are meticulously designed to meet their specific needs and property constraints. His comprehensive role extends from the initial, consultative site visit and detailed estimation to overseeing the complex logistics of the installation and rootering departments. He ensures that from the first shovel in the ground to the final inspection, every project is executed with the precision and quality that the Van Delden name represents.

Chad's expertise is particularly profound in the realm of system installation and regulatory compliance. With direct, end-to-end management of over 2,000 system installations, he has navigated every conceivable challenge the Texas landscape can present. His comprehensive knowledge extends from initial site evaluation to the complexities of permitting and final installation, making him a trusted authority on both state-level TCEQ regulations and the specific, nuanced requirements of local jurisdictions, including Bexar, Kendall, and Comal counties. This makes him an indispensable resource for homeowners and builders alike.

To complement this vast experience, Chad holds a full suite of the industry's most critical licenses: TCEQ Installer II, Maintenance Provider, Site Evaluator, Designated Representative, and NAWT Inspector. His commitment to the industry's integrity is further demonstrated by his work as an educator. He has taught continuing education courses for the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) as part of the NAWT license renewal program, sharing his deep, field-earned knowledge with other professionals to elevate standards across the state.

Beyond project management, Chad also directs the critical task of maintaining the company's extensive fleet of vehicles and equipment. His meticulous oversight guarantees that the Van Delden team is always ready to respond efficiently and reliably, minimizing downtime and maximizing service quality. Through his multifaceted, hands-on leadership, Chad Van Delden ensures that the company's reputation for operational excellence and unparalleled fieldwork remains second to none, securing its position as an industry leader for the next generation.

Courtney Van Delden Supplee

Courtney Van Delden Supplee stands at the helm of a remarkable Texas legacy as the Vice President and a fourth-generation owner of Van Delden Wastewater Systems. Founded in 1937, the company has long been the standard-bearer for septic and wastewater solutions across the San Antonio and Boerne regions. Carrying on this multi-generational tradition of excellence, Courtney guides the company’s core operations, financial strategy, and market presence, blending time-honored values with a forward-thinking vision.

Courtney's expertise is not merely inherited; it was forged through a lifetime of immersion in the industry. Her journey began at the tender age of six, answering phones in the family business where she first learned the importance of a customer's voice. This early education in service became a foundational principle. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Communications, she made a deliberate choice to return to the family business, not as an executive, but as a student of the trade.

Determined to understand every facet of the business, she immersed herself in all office and managerial roles. However, she knew that true authority came from the field, not just the office. To gain that essential, practical knowledge, she personally inspected over 6,000 septic systems for real estate transactions. This was not a superficial task; she frequently performed the hard, manual work required to unearth tanks and diagnose complex on-site issues. This hands-on experience provides her with an unparalleled, granular understanding of system installation, hydraulic function, and soil science that few executives can claim.

A recognized and respected authority, Courtney holds a formidable array of key industry licenses, including TCEQ Installer II, Maintenance Provider, and Designated Representative, as well as the NAWT Inspector Certification. Her passion for elevating the industry extends beyond her own company. She has shared her deep expertise by instructing continuing education courses for the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), National Association of Wastewater Technicians (NAWT), the Texas Environmental Health Association (TEHA), and the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR) - helping to raise the bar for professionals across the state.

Under her leadership, Van Delden Wastewater Systems has not only continued to grow but has also solidified its reputation as an industry innovator. The company has been featured in national publications like Pumper and Installer Magazine and has been a trusted voice on podcasts and radio shows for industry leaders like Service Titan. At her core, Courtney is driven by a dual passion: a profound commitment to honoring the generational trust the company has built with its customers—many of whom are also second or third-generation clients—and a dedication to creating fulfilling, long-term careers for her employees, fostering a culture where people feel valued and purposeful.

As a leader, Courtney Van Delden Supplee uniquely embodies the bridge between the past and the future. Her leadership ensures that Van Delden Wastewater Systems is not just preserving a storied legacy, but actively setting a new standard of excellence in the wastewater industry for generations to come.

Frank J. Van Delden began installing septic systems in 1937 and dedicated his life to building the business until his passing in 1955. At that time, septic system installation often required blasting through rock, and you can visit our office to see some of the original blasting boxes used before the advent of modern machinery and advanced treatment systems.

Originally located on Nogalitos Street in San Antonio, the business was marked by a large red metal “V,” which inspired our current logo. In 2020, we continued this tradition by constructing a new “V” sign at our current location.

Frank’s son, Gary Van Delden, took over the business operations and successfully guided the company’s growth until his retirement in 1989. During this period, Texas implemented regulations that significantly improved septic systems and standards. Gary also established new offices off Rochelle Street, which now serves as the location of the Leon Vista Trailhead in San Antonio.

Gary’s son, Garrett Van Delden, began working in the family business during high school, and his wife, Pam, joined the team in 1981. Together, they expanded the business to include septic tank cleaning, inspections, aerobic system installation, and maintenance. In 1990, Van Delden Wastewater Systems became the first company in Bexar County to install an aerobic system with spray distribution.

In 1998, they built our current location right off IH-10 in Boerne. Pam received the NAWT Excellence in Service Award in 2015, and together they established an outstanding reputation for the business that continues to thrive today.

Courtney and Chad Van Delden spent much of their childhood at the old shop, gaining invaluable experience during their summer work in high school. They learned the importance of the principle “do things right or not at all,” a core value that guides their leadership today.

Courtney joined the company full time in 2003, taking on roles in office administration and inspection. She currently oversees the pumping division, the aerobic division, and overall office administration.

Chad joined the company full time in 2007 as the estimator for major repairs and system installations. He also manages the repairs and installation crews and oversees the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Now, Courtney and Chad own the business and handle daily operations, upholding the excellent reputation established by previous generations. Their top priorities are quality and service, which has led to the most highly trained technicians and state-of-the-art systems for efficiency and effective customer communication.
