Will the company send you a reminder when it’s time for your system to be serviced, or will you need to remember to call for an appointment?
If you are not home during your scheduled maintenance time, will the provider leave or send any information to let you know the system was serviced?
How Will The County Obtain A Copy Of Your Service Report?
When a maintenance provider services your aerobic system, a copy of the service report is required to be sent to the regulating authority (usually the county septic department) within 14 days.
In most cases submitting this report is the homeowner’s responsibility, however some providers may offer to submit them for you as a courtesy.
If a provider offers this service, we recommend calling the county to make sure the company is following through on their promise to submit your paperwork.
Are The Technicians On Commission?
Technicians who work on commission may be tempted to sell you parts and services you don’t need. Search for providers whose techs are not on commission.
