This is a pretty common question, especially when toilet paper was scarce during the Covid pandemic of 2020. No one wants to use camping toilet paper on a daily basis (ouch!), so what can you use?
While I haven’t seen any studies regarding specific toilet paper brands, Bob Villa’s article lists some brands as septic safe: https://www.bobvila.com/articles/best-toilet-paper-for-septic/
One thing to keep in mind: No matter what kind of paper you use, HOW MUCH paper you use will have an effect as well. Families with many girls tend to have more toilet paper build up in their tanks tank families with mainly boys. Keep in mind, toddlers love to use lots of paper too – so there may be more usage during potty training years.
What about additives to break down the toilet paper? Read our blog here: https://www.vdwws.com/2013/08/should-i-use-additives-in-my-septic-system/
