Why We Use Social Media For Our Business

Posted on

I’ll admit it – I am not a social media guru. I have a personal Facebook account but never post anything. Over the years, I have seen the huge opportunity with our Van Delden company page to inform our customers and the general public about septic systems. There are so many people moving to the outskirts of San Antonio who are using a septic system for the first time. This can cause anxiety if you’re not used to using a septic system.

Over the past 79 years, we’ve seen over and over that uninformed homeowners just don’t know how their system works or how to use it (what to do and what not to do). This can lead to many premature system failures (unnecessary money out of your pocket), structures built over the tank, and a whole host of other issues. In fact, most customers who call us with concerns that stem from a lack of understanding how their system works.

I’ve been blogging for a few years now about a variety of topics, mainly aimed to answer the everyday questions we get calls about. Many people call from out of town and out of state who searched for a topic on the internet that I wrote about. I’m happy to talk to them and try to help them with their questions even though I know those calls will never result in actual business due to location differences. It gives me great pleasure to help people who need it.

If you have a septic-related question, I’m happy to help to the best of my ability. I may not have all the answers, but I will always answer honestly as if I were in your shoes. We aim to be a partner with you in your septic journey: whether you’re a new homeowner who is unfamiliar with septic systems or if you’re a seasoned user. We love to help you keep your system working efficiently both now and far into the future.

  1. can you see bubbles in the aeration tank at all times? I opened the cover to see inside and saw no bubbles because I was having to clean the filter every month. . The alarm is not on and I hear the air pump running. this is a 500H system about 19 years old. I also saw where I should put clorine in the system. where do I put it ? Thanks for your info/

    • Some systems you may only be able to hear the “rolling” of the bubbles. Each system is different – our company does not service 500H systems. If the air pump is running, it would be logical that air would be getting to the aerobic tank. Which filter are you having to clean each month? You will need to add chlorine in the chlorinator tube – which is set up differently on each system. You might want to contact someone who specifically services 500H systems to get more detailed information for your system. Best wishes!

    • I was asking about the screen coming into the discharge tank. There is no place installed to add chlorine. I will call a dealer to come check this out. thanks for your fast answer. does anyone still service or sell the 500H system?

    • Hmm..I would call the dealer or manufacturer to see who is on their service provider list.

    • I’m not sure what you mean by “mechanical sewer system” or “drain ditch”…can you provide more details?
